SCIENCE CAFES: LOCAL GEOLOGY

El Dorado is partnering with the Aspen Science Center to present Science Cafés for the month of May. Garry Zabel, Professor Emeritus in Geology will lead a discussion panel about local geology around the Roaring Fork Valley. Join us at El Dorado for drinks and riveting discussions. Starts at 7pm with a presentation then followed by a Q&A session. 10% of revenue will be donated to the Aspen Science Center.

Event details: Come learn about the Carbondale Collapse Feature, Mt. Sopris, and the local caves and hot springs from geology professor emeritus Garry Zabel! Come explore questions like; do certain minerals really dissolve underground, and what happens if they do? Do we know all there is to know about the Carbondale Collapse Center? How do we know that Mt. Sopris wasn’t a volcano? Bring your curiosity and love of the local environment!
